Daggler was a cop, working for the Greater Glottage Police Authority. He is described by Hayward as "not looking so tough".

Personality[]
Daggler is violent, and pushes for violence.[1][2] He's got an us and them mentality, which allows him to justify pushing for murder and brutality, assuming that justification is something he cares about. Given his enjoyment of radio show about a superhero, it could be that he is not self-aware of his position as an antagonist from our perspective.[1]
Notable Events[]
Daggler is sent down (presumably from Glottage), seen as an officer who would get the results Hayward wasn't returning. Felix reveals that he is credited with ending the effects of the Drowning Song after gaining testimonies. He attacks Peterson to get directed to Penda's Slake, and blows off Hayward's chastisement that he went too far. He then introduces his personal god, the Coiling Speaks, introducing it as a rhetorical god, and convinces Hayward that he is under the effects of the Stink.[1]
He and Hayward then pop up in snippets until Felix directs them to Bellwethers.[3]
The two officers encounter and arrest Carpenter at Bellwethers, Daggler pushes for murdering her, and makes an attempt which is stopped by Hayward. He then persuades Hayward to stand by, and is preparing to fire at Carpenter again when he is interrupted by Faulkner. Faulkner calls in an Angel of the Trawler-man, which bisects Daggler.[2]

Connections[]
- Hayward is Daggler's ex-partner. The two investigating officers share animosity towards each other from the start of their partnership.[1] Hayward thinks Daggler is dangerous.[2]

- To Daggle is an archaic English term meaning 'to soil by dragging through mire'. Additionally, his name can function as a pun on Cloak and Dagger.
